Education
Dr. Erik Johner was born in 1963 and studied at the University of Basel. In 1994, he obtained a Master of Law degree in European Legal Studies at the University of Exeter (England) and in the same year he received his doctorate in international procedural law.
Professional development
After being admitted to the bar in 1991, he first worked in a trust company in Basel and then practised as an attorney in Zurich. He has been a partner at Simonius & Partner since 1998.
Between 2010 and 2017, Dr. Johner was an ordinary judge at the Court of Appeals of Basel-Stadt.
