Education
Jürg Tschopp, born in 1962, graduated from the University of Basel in 1988. Following traineeships with administrative and judicial authorities and at a law firm, he was admitted to the bar in 1992.
Professional development
Between 1993 and 2003, he worked in the claims department of an insurance company in Basel. In that position, he handled complex liability cases, primarily involving personal injuries and building damage. Beginning in 1996, his activities expanded to include social insurance and the entire non-life area of private insurance.
In 1995, he took up a position as lecturer in insurance law at the KV Basel commercial school and as an expert for the Federal Professional Certificate in insurance.
Since 2004, he has been practising as an independent attorney in Basel.
